About Our Practice
--LPS is 100% telehealth-based, meaning that all encounters will take place via secure video conferencing or phone.
--Given LPS' telehealth format, we typically accept new clients between ages 8 and 18 years, though we may consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
--While Dr. Mondi-Rago has experience working with a wide range of mental health conditions, she specializes in serving clients whose primary challenges relate to depression, anxiety, trauma, or adjustment to difficult life circumstances. She also has extensive experience working with parents/caregivers.
--As a small practice, LPS is private pay only and does not accept insurance. We are happy to provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Many families have good luck with this, particularly if they have a PPO plan.
Assessment & Therapy Services
Your work with Dr. Mondi-Rago will begin with a two- to three-session assessment, during which she will assess your needs and goals, and also determine whether any psychological diagnoses are appropriate. This process lays an important foundation for treatment.
Treatment is always customized to the needs and goals of the patient and family. Dr. Mondi-Rago incorporates a variety of evidence-based techniques (based on the latest clinical and scientific evidence) into her practice, such as:
--Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
--Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
--Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
--Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
--Parent Management Training
--Collaborative Problem-Solving
--Mindfulness

Frequently Asked Questions
How does telehealth compare to in-person therapy?
Many families find telehealth to be a convenient and engaging format, and research indicates that it is an effective method for delivering psychological services. Dr. Mondi-Rago has provided hundreds of hours of telehealth to children and families, and uses a variety of strategies to ensure that sessions are interactive and engaging. She is happy to discuss whether the telehealth format would be a good fit for you and your family’s needs.
When and how often do you see patients?
Sessions are offered on Tuesday evenings after 4pm EST. Most patients start with weekly sessions, and eventually go down to biweekly or monthly sessions as their symptoms improve.
Will you work with my child's psychiatrist/pediatrician/school?
Yes, with your permission! Collaborating with other healthcare providers and professionals is an essential component of high-quality care.
How much do services cost?
The cost for the first assessment session is $300. Subsequent assessment and therapy sessions (~50 minutes) are $230. Payments can be made online via credit card or by check.
All patients are entitled to and will receive a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services, in keeping with the No Surprises Act (https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises).
What is a superbill and how can I pursue insurance reimbursement?
A superbill is a detailed receipt for services that you can submit to their health insurance for possible reimbursement. We strongly recommend calling your insurance provider to inquire about their reimbursement policies for out-of-network psychological services. Many families have good luck with this, particularly if they have a PPO plan/out-of-network benefits.
Where does the name "Loncar" come from?
Dr. Mondi-Rago’s grandmother (maiden name Loncar) is a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to the U.S. as a child. LPS’ name honors the incredible resilience of children and families, and the impact that high-quality psychological services can have on their well-being.
